Namecheap to Digital Ocean Quick Guide
This is a quick reference for setting up a new domain name from namecheap to your Digital Ocean VPS droplet. Once you’ve purchased your VPS and domain name you’ll need to add some minor configurations.
First, at namecheap you’ll need to point to the digital ocean name server…
Under the name server section enter custom dns servers:
Save
Next, at DigitalOcean, go to your dashboard, select your droplets options and Add a Domain
Enter your new domain name in the field, and save it. This should then populate all of your necessary records. There should be 3 NS records, and 1 A record.
Make sure to add another A record to include www.
